OUR
FOCUS
We believe that our government and its initiatives should be transparent; this is key to assisting efficiency and promoting accountability. By asking ourselves the following questions we work to enhance transparency:

What are we doing to keep Bostonians in the loop of City matters?

What systems do we have in place establishing open communication?

How can we remove the unnecessary barriers dividing the state and the people?
UPHOLDING TRANSPARENCY
1
YEAR IN REVIEW
To increase transparency with our constituents, our team creates a yearly review accessible to all. Within this yearly review there are break downs of polices, hearings, resolutions, and votes that were committed to throughout the year. One can also review the Councilor's attempt to increase civic engagement through explanations of programs, events, and parades Mejia has been involved in.
These reviews also shine light on the Boston Budget and what role Mejia had in passing the budget. We also have broken down the budgets allocation and have held hearings to better inform the public of how the yearly budget effects them.

BUDGET POP-UP TOUR
The Office of Julia Mejia committed to a Budget Pop-Up Tour to bring the community together in efforts to increase transparency regarding the Boston City budget. By visiting different Boston communities we educated people on what the budget process is and created spaces for them to share what their budget priorities and concerns were. This tour motivated our advocacy for your tax dollars and shared valuable information with constituents regarding their city budget.

COMMITEE CHAIR
As the Chair for the Government Accountability, Transparency, and Accessibility Committee Mejia has been consist in pushing these values throughout the efforts of the City Council. Intentions of this committee are to be transparent about city expenses and how to allocate the funds for proper city efficiency through efforts like the Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports. Constituents are able to see hearings through the Boston City Council's YouTube.
